Jake Copithorne is the author of The Free Agent. A high-school senior who probably cares a little bit too much about sports, Copithorne was given the opportunity to write a sports blog for a month instead of going to school. TFA was born.
The inspiration for creating the blog was unquestionably Bill Simmons, ESPN.com’s The Sports Guy. Copithorne first read a Simmons article in his sophomore year and has not missed one since.
Based in Boston and, like Simmons, an unabashed fan of Boston sports teams TFA’s author largely credits growing up in a sports Mecca for his passion for all things athletic. Copithorne also plays basketball and runs track for his high school.
